I know there are people who needs to be in a comfort zone before they can write. This spartan space however, helps me think more quietly. I would start drafts on my laptop on anything I wish to talk about. From time to time I edit or expand on the drafts until I feel that they are fit to post. Then it's just a matter of getting wifi to post it on the blog.
I also spend my free time reading at this table (that position has the best lighting in the apartment). Meals are also taken here.
It's a busy table.

A busy table is a good table :) As long as your writing space helps you write, it has served it's purpose, spartan or otherwise...
serene - yeah, but I often wish it's a bigger table, so that I can spread my things out on it. When I go home, I might just invest in a long, low work bench as my work station.
I think distraction is bad when you're trying to write. I've got enough around me in my space where I HAVE to make a conscious effort to stay focused on the screen and my work. :D I like the minimalist space you have here.
Often when I'm writing or working on the computer I unplug the internet cable, because I know that otherwise I'll get distracted by something every 10 minutes.
It may be spartan, but I like your space.
It's a nice table. Do you ever make faces at yourself in the mirror next to the table? I think I would.
