my one suggestion on books... every time you buy one, ship one home to your folks. that way you won't have problems transporting them when you get done in dubai. keep one shippable size box of books there so that you can ship that when yer all done. like a box about the size of a box of copy paper would be about right. that's about 15-30 books.
