My Maybe Sinister Cyst

Hello all. I'm home from the surgery. I was there at 7:00 am and came home around 5pm.

I have pictures of The Kiwi Fruit. Just to gross you guys out -- it's a BALL of white flesh and there's strands of hair. I am oddly fascinated by it, and I couldn't stop looking at the pictures. Why?

Because it is gross. And because it is mine.

Pictures will be uploaded once I can locate a scanner.

The doctor is running test on the growth. Just to confirm it's nothing "sinister", he says. I like that he uses the word "sinister" to describe my cyst. It is something from within that threatens me. Hmmm. I need to ponder this for a while.

One disappointment: Instead of the 4 weeks break from work I have been expecting -- it's only 17 days. Darn. ;p

Watch me now practice moving mindfully like Thich Nhat Hanh -- because it hurts when I move too fast (which I usually do).

Meanwhile I weep because Teacher M is teaching Yoga Core this evening and I can't be there. Her Yoga Core class is intense and really good.

Until later. I should be resting but I am restless.

I'm glad to hear you're back home. Hopefully the tests will confirm that everything is fine. I know what you mean about the word "sinister" though. And I also know what you mean about being grossed out and fascinated at the same time.

Do get some rest! And take good care of yourself.

Sending good health vibes your way!

Welcome back! I'm glad it went well. Sorry you don't get gobs of time off - that would have been a fluffy silver lining. Take it easy, and I hope all the results will be very non-sinister. :-)

I'm so glad to hear that you're home and that things went well! And please warn us when you post those pics that they may cause fainting ;)

Rest up and get better...make the most of those 17 days!

Nymeth Thank you. It's really cool -- this ball of thing that's from me.

Iliana Thank you. I need the good vibes.

Darla Thank you. Yeah, too bad I only have 17 days off. ;p
Here's to "Non-Sinister Cyst"!

Chris Heehee. I was thinking I'll just upload onto flickr with a link here -- and a warning. In case you guys are drinking coffee or eating while reading this blog.

Thank you for the good thoughts.

I'm so glad the surgery went well and you're fine. Pictures? Now that would certainly be interesting.

Get some rest. Read, relax, refresh and all that good stuff. Seventeen days is a good amount. Hope it's enough though. Don't do too much!! :)

Ailuros Thank you. I'm trying to rest, but as you can see, I'm also online. ;p

17 days is definitely not enough.

Description of the "kiwi fruit" sounds gross! Bad visuals of it as i sit here drinking my kopi-c.

The tests are gonna show you that everything is fine and dandy.

yum ... kiwi.... although my love of kiwi might change when I see your "kiwi fruit". ;0)

gartenfische Thank you. According to my research, sometimes these things even grow teeth. Hee.

Ah Leng Excuse me, imagine having to look at that picture when I just woke up from the drugs. "This thing was in me?"

Amanda But it's very fascinating, really. It's a ball. :)

Actually, did they offer to let you keep the "kiwi fruit" (after they have done the necessary tests, that is)? Can sort of preserve it, maybe it will wrinkle up then can wear as a pendant hor.

darkorpheus said...

Ah Leng No lah. Before the ops they asked if I would be willing to donate it for research. So, for the betterment of humankind and all other cyst-sisters after me, I generously agreed. ;p

Besides, where the hell am I going to keep that Kiwi? The fridge?

Unknown said...

Sun it until it dries up.....then poke a hole in the middle, put a string through, and wear it!

I'm just talking rot lah.

darkorpheus said...

Ah Leng Of course I know you're talking rot. Bored at work is it?

I might just email you the picture one day so that coffee comes out of your nose when you're least suspecting it.

Good thoughts for you and to you, Orpheus. Now, take it easy on yourself and use your yoga breathing to keep you centered and calm.

Dorothy Thank you. I'm glad it went well too. Now is the difficult bit -- the staying still.

Jenclair Thank you. But there's only so much lying in bed a healthy person can do.

I'm so sorry that I've been so hit and miss with the blog visits that I didn't realize you were going through this. I feel awful but am thrilled that you are doing well and will hope and pray for 'non-sinister' reports! Your sense of humor about the whole thing is commendable. It looks like you are keeping things in the perspective they need to be in. My fondest wishes and prayers are with you.

Carl It's okay, Carl. No worries. And thank you for the concern and prayers. I'm a little restless at home, but otherwise fine. A lot of bad things could have happened after the surgery (fever, infection etc) but it didn't. I am blessed.

And one has to admit, humour is the best antidote against the bad stuff in life. ;p
