While I've heard it earlier on the grapevine, the official word has only been announced today: my posting to Dubai has been delayed. Again. To September.
Yeah. Right.
First they said I was supposed to fly out 1st August. Then it was 18th August. Now 15th September. At this rate, I will still be around for Christmas. To think that I finally started packing last week. (Okay, so all I did was drag out my old backpack and put 4 blouses in. That's still packing)
My next post on Dubai will be when I am actually in the country itself. The whole deal is so anti-climatic I'm not even going to bother posting about it anymore. *grumble*
What a f**king waste of time. (Yes, I know it's not really their fault - but still!)

Ah, what a drag. At least it's not been called off entirely. And now you have more time to visit with friends before you go. You don't have to cram it all in to a few weeks and then collapse from social overload :)
Stefanie I wish they would have told me about the delay earlier though. I had already done all that social cramming - and suddenly, I am told I have at least one more month.
Time to make a few phonecalls to friends.
so do you really want to get deeper in with a company that pulls that horseshit. i've never seen a company that presents a better face than it does when it hires you. serious. get out now while you still can. even if they're legit... they're unethical to do the crap they've done to you. chalk it up to experience and a lesson that you didn't have to learn the hard way.
you're worth more than that. you deserve to be treated fairly. all the money in the world isn't worth letting people poop on you... unless you're into folks pooping on you.
have some self-respect.
Love yah!
Doc
btw. if that's more frank than i should be... i'm sorry. honestly.. i'm angry for you... not at you.
Cheers!
Doc
Doc Thanks, I do appreciate the way you feel for my situation. But to be fair - it's more like the bosses were screwed over themselves, and everything got dragged down with them.
They were moving into a new country with new rules that they didn't understand. They should have done their homework first.
But hindsight is always perfect, isn't it?
So now I wait.
Argh, that is frustrating. Sorry to hear it :/
i really hope it works out for you... i just don't have much faith in employers. i've been screwed too many times.
you might spend the time looking for a better position... i mean what if there's another screw-up?
Just think, now you have more time to pack, say goodbye to people and get to know Dubai.
Nymeth Thanks. I'm coping, as usual. To think I went into the interview not expecting anything, and now all this excessive emotions.
Doc I hear you. But I'm actually doing what I like right now. It's just that I need to work with a lot of other people who may not always have my interest as priority.
duck thief It's just kind of odd to have done all these farewells, and still be around? Know what I mean? :)
