Excerpt of Travels With Herodotus

The April issue of Condé Nast Traveler has an excerpt of Ryszard Kapuscinski's new book, Travels With Herodotus, to be published by Knopf in June 2007. [via World Hum.]

This reminds me that I have to start reading Herodotus soon.

Herodotus is on my list as well and I'll be even more hyped to read it after I (once again) listen to the audio version of American Gods. Just ordered it from the library. Was in the mood for some more Gaiman and the reader for this book is amazing.

This reminds me that I have been neglecting Herodotus for the bloodthirsty Homer. Must get back to him.

Ah, I've just started on Herodotus. I'm surprised it's quite readable. Perhaps even moe readable than Homer.

What am I getting myself into?
