Making Time to Sit

Tricycle Magazine

A while back I mentioned my interest in taking up the 28 Day Meditation Challenge. That was way back in February and I haven't actually started on it.

Last night I decided to just get over the procrastination. Our lives are not going to be any less busy. Instead of wishing for more time, I'm making time to sit.

I've set 1st September 2007 as the day I start the 28 Day Meditation Challenge.

Good luck with your challenge! What a great thing to try. I am guilty of always saying, "when I have more time". Ugh. I need to plan better.

Good luck with the challenge! How long will you be meditating each day?

Iliana I know what you mean about always saying, "when I have more time", or "when I'm not so busy." It was partly realising how my schedule will never be free that made me decide to Just Do It.

Just Do It. It's a Nike slogan, but it's also good advice.

Chris Thanks, Chris. I'm so out of practice I'll need the luck. ;)

Stefanie Thanks. It's a progressive schedule.

First week we are challenged to sit for 20 minutes in the morning and in the evening, focusing on the breath.

By the second week, you add 20 minutes of daily walking meditation into your routine.

In between there are advice on adding other practices to support your meditation, like having a meal in silence, so to stay more mindful while eating.

I wish you the best in your challenge. Reading the original post and then your commitment to take the plunge is an inspiration.

Hurray for following the path of the Nike slogan ;)

Kim: "Hurray for following the path of the Nike slogan"

Yes, I am a victim of brand advertising. :)

Thanks.
