Books Echoing Life

And more on books that I'm reading that are echoing life:

The Black Dahlia, James Ellroy's noirish take on the gruesome murder of Hollywood wannabe - Elizabeth Short - dubbed "The Black Dahlia" after she was found mutilated and her body dumped. Her murderer was never found.

Meanwhile, the whole world is talking about the recent confession of John Mark Karr for the JonBenét murder. There are now doubts due to conflicting DNA evidence. The murder remains unsolved.

On an aside, Ellroy's novel is adapted into a movie starring Josh Hartnett, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Eckhart and Hilary Swank. Mia Kirshner (most famous for playing the annoying Jenny in The L Word) stars as the dead girl, Elizabeth Short.
