A Eulogy to My Uncle B

I feel like I need to say something more about my Uncle B. He was one of the likeable members on my dad's side of the family.

The image that came to my head is the four nurses who showed up unexpectedly to pay their respect.

So, here goes:

Even if you only knew him for a few months, you would come to his funeral. He is the kind of guy who makes good, strong impressions on people.

He smiled a lot. He talked to people kindly, and I have never heard him say anything mean about anyone in my life.

Rest in peace, Uncle B.

Wishing you all grace and peace during this time. It is nice to be able to look back on someone after their death and be able to say that they were a nice person. I hope you and your family are doing well and I am sorry for your loss.

You know, that is such a rare quality in people these days. I truly can't think of a person that I know (in person) who I've never heard say something mean about someone. I would've been able to tell even from that one sentence that he smiled a lot! Hang in there :)

yogamum & JP Thank you. And yes, he's a nice guy. He made me laugh a lot when I was young.

Carl V Thank you. We're dealing with it. It's harder for my dad and his generation though, because Uncle B is the first among the siblings to pass on. It brought their mortality a little too close to home.

Chris He really smiled a lot. And he had these BIG ears and a lanky frame that made him look like a monkey.

But yeah, it's really rare to find someone who never said anything bad about people. He's more the sort to keep quiet if he disapproves of something.

I guess he believes in: "If you have nothing nice to say, just don't say anything."
