Random Stuff from the Clutter of Dark Orpheus

Chris started it, when he posted the picture of his TBR pile/shelf. Then Jean Pierre went and posted his TBR shelf.

So, now it's my turn -- *drumroll* -- welcome to the chaos that is my bookshelves, along with other random stuff. I can't even begin to separate the books read from the books unread -- so it's ALL there.

I have to warn you though -- the pictures are not neat and pretty. What you have are some images of raw, gritty (and occasionally grimy and often dusty), (almost) uncensored Dark Orpheus living space.

If you want to ask how often I dust my bookshelves -- the answer is: any time I happen to be holding the duster in the general vicinity of the shelves. Which is not a frequent phenomena.

i love it that you've given us so many pictures! i particularly like the first one though, for the way it shows the massive density of all those books and cds! oh, it makes me want to dive in!! i'd love to peruse those books!

Holy bibliomania, Batman, that's alotta books! :)

Love all your pics. I especially like identifying all the ephemera and bric-a-brac on the shelves in addition to books. I was pleased to spy the b&w picture of Scarlett Johansson...yum!!! And of course I love all the comic book stuff. Thanks so much for sharing. These would make great pics in the Eye Spy book series.

Holey Moley! I think it looks like nirvana. I'd love to plonk myself in the midst of all those books and spend an afternoon browsing.

Love the Hellboy doll!

Oh my. That is quite a collection.

I see the new Veganomicon prominently displayed! I just bought it myself.

Actually it's a pretty picture and I love it! :)

I have got rid of all my CDs to make room for books. My music is stored in a flash-drive and back-up iTunes. Books, however, are not the same as i have to hold on to something solid.

Yay for Veganomicon right there in front! And I saw Vegan Cupcakes take over the World too! I love your blu walls. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Sarah, Chris,& Dorothy Thanks.

This Eramus quote says it all: "When I have a little money, I buy books. And if any is left, I buy food and clothings." *wink at Chris*

Dusting is a bitch though. :)

Jean Pierre There are actually 2 layers on the bookshelves - so there are more books behind the books. *grin*

Carl I love those Little Endless, but my favourite is still the Hellboy Wobbler and my Morpheus/Daniel bookends. :)

Iliana Yes. "Uncensored". That means I moved my dirty laundry and other unmentionables before the taking the pictures. ;p

If you look closely at the Jodie Forster poster, you can see my legs in the reflection.

Lady_Tink The room is starting to feel like a dump sometimes. :)

Indigo I think I can easily spend a few months just browsing and reading the books -- without ever leaving my apartment.

Melanie "Veganomicon" is great, isn't it? I love how they are so obviously dedicated to food, but yet so disarmingly funny about it too. I like their section on beans, because I know very little about cooking pulses and beans.

Matt Most of my music collection is on my mpeg player - but I still buy too many CDs. *sigh*

Next time I should take a picture of my DVDs.

Stefanie Oh, yeah. Vegan Cupcakes was on top of the pile. It's fun just to look at the pictures even if I have no oven.

The blue wall was my attempt at colour therapy a few years back. (I have a fiery Aries temperament) I am a calmer person over the years, so maybe it worked.

I'm an Aries too, maybe that's why I like the intensity of the color so much. I painted my room red a few years ago. I absolutely love it and actually find it quite calming.

We'll have cupcakes for dessert if you ever make it to dinner (and I'm not worried about vampires, I eat too much garlic to be troubled by them :) )
